Oslo City Hall

Located in the centre of Downtown Oslo, Oslo City Hall (Norwegian: Oslo rådhus) houses the city council, city administration, art studios and art galleries. Because of the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony being held on 10 December every year in Oslo City Hall, it has become one of Oslo’s most famous buildings.

The City Hall indeed gives visitors a very artistic feel of its structure with the numerous artwork in every part of the structure. I especially like the embroidered art piece of the town of Oslo as seen in picture above as I think it’s really a  very well-done piece of work! One can’t immediately know that it was actually a sewn piece and not simply a painting. 🙂

Sadly, I am not sure if the recent bomb blast on 22 July 2011 would have drastically affected the exquisite artwork in this structure given that it happened in Central Oslo. I seriously hope not and wish that all the people & visitors in Oslo are safe from that horrible blast!
