Hilton Newark Airport

For the last night in USA where we moved nearer back to New York City, we were provided with a “5-star hotel stay” at Hilton Newark Airport, which is located only about 1 mile away from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). It was our first time for this trip that we were able to stay in a room on level 7, considered a high floor for us since most of the time we only got rooms on level 2 or 3. Too bad no magnificent view to look out from the window.:P

The hotel and room decor definitely gave us the “business hotel” feel – modern and functional. There is a Starbucks Cafe and a crowded bar (when we checked in that evening) at the lobby. Check out pictures of our room:

Compared to the previous night’s stay in Boston, in terms of lighting, this was much better, at least we could have white light once more to do our final packing! Haha… The bed and pillows were also very comfortable and allowed for a good uninterrupted night’s rest for us to “prepare” for the next day’s “crazy shopping”. 😛  Perhaps the only drawback of this room is the lack of free wifi? But never mind, I was too busy packing my luggage and making space for my shopping “loot” the following day to have the time to go online lol.

Having a comfortable room for the night was great, but the next morning’s breakfast was an utter disappointment for a 5-star hotel chain like Hilton. We only knew where the breakfast location was in the morning when we check the board at the hotel lobby, because the breakfast spread was placed outside designated conference rooms for each tour group for a designated period of time.

We were told that we could go down for breakfast around 8am, but when we found our breakfast location, we discovered the breakfast spread was already there since 7am and we were sharing the room with the large Chan Brothers tour group. Naturally the food had turned cold after so long. I really didn’t enjoy my breakfast at all and ate just enough to fill my stomach, hoping that it could last me for my 3-hour shopping trip later at Westfield State Garden Plaza Mall… -_-” Why does a 5-star hotel like Hilton not even have a proper breakfast dining place? 😦

Before I end this post, here are 2 pictures taken outside the hotel before we checked out for your viewing pleasure.
