Saigon Spa Experience – Relax Without Feeling A Pinch In The Wallet

I’m neither a spa nor massage fanatic, but I don’t mind the occasional relaxing massage to pamper myself, especially when I visit neighbouring countries with lower cost of living compared to Singapore. Since I’ve heard & read many positive reviews about the massage parlours/ spa centres in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), it was a…

A Peek Of The Strong Café Culture in Ho Chi Minh City

In a congested tropical city like Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), a sip of its Vietnamese iced coffee (cà phê đá) is certainly a cool reprieve from the hot & humid weather. Made using medium to coarse ground dark roast Vietnamese-grown coffee with a small metal Vietnamese drip filter, this traditional coffee recipe has won…

A Taste of Saigon’s Must-Eat Local Specialties

While I have read & heard a lot of raves about Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) being a food paradise to cater to the most discerning taste buds, it has never spurred me to try out Vietnamese food at all. In fact, I avoid Vietnamese food whenever possible, because the amount of garnishes like basil,…

A Visit To The Old Hub Of Saigon In Tan Dinh District

Originally, we had wanted to venture to District 5/6 where the biggest Chinatown in Vietnam could be found. Known as Cholon locally, the Binh Tay Market is a major attraction in this district, offering everything from fresh produce to local goods with a Chinese flavour. However, through our local contacts (the hotel’s Marketing personnel I…

Going Through The Tourist Ritual in Saigon… Part 2

Continuing my touristy route towards the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon where other noteworthy architecture are situated, I passed by the Ho Chi Minh City Hall, with a bronze statue of Uncle Ho (Vietnam’s late President Mr Ho Chi Minh) standing at the park in front of the French colonial-style building. Frankly, I didn’t know…

Going Through The Tourist Ritual in Saigon… Part 1

Unlike other overseas trips where I would usually make concrete plans what I’d do, this Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) trip was one that was quite relaxed with no detailed itinerary. Yes, I still did a bit of homework on the must-see sights in the city, but I didn’t pen them down into a physical…

Le Meridien Saigon – A Pampering Stay In Ho Chi Minh City

Located in the financial & commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) – District 1, Le Meridien Saigon is a 5-star hotel under the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Group. This stylish hotel only welcomed its first guests in September 2015, making it one of the newest hotels in HCMC, if not the newest. While…

#Friyay ! Congrats for surviving a full workweek after all the festive celebrations! Can't wait for the next holiday already but no time to go too far? 😁 Go somewhere nearer to home for a start, for a quick weekend break! Who knows, you'll get your next inspiration from gazing at the beautiful horizon. ;) Read my latest review of Montigo Resorts Nongsa Batam for some ideas: https://wp.me/pDff8-2fn (link in bio) ☺ . . . . . #travelblogger #montigoresorts #batam #indonesia #cabana #southchinasea #luxuryretreat #wanderlust #weekendinspiration #nofilters
Mondays certainly feel better when we come up close to such lovely hues of blue! 🌊 . . . . . #mondayblues #wanderlust #travelblogger #throwback #montigo #jetty #southchinasea #nongsa #batam #indonesia
長這麼大,第一次選擇在國外過年。今天大年除夕,與大家分享我們別墅門外的美景照,附上新年祝福😁 It's my first time celebrating the Lunar New Year overseas, so sharing the beautiful scenery right from outside our villa with my sincere greetings for you! 😊 #travelblogger #batam #montigo #nongsa #villa #indonesia #familytravel
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of #banmian or #meehoonkuey ? Boring bowl of carbo in soup? Not again?! While such a bowl of noodles usually prepared in pork broth is ubiquitous #sghawkerfood we can easily find in hawker centres & foodcourts, it was my first time tasting the handmade noodles in 4 different colours & shapes yesterday. Definitely not your typical bowl of boring #面粉粿 😋 In case you are wondering, these delightful bowls are NOT made of artificial colourings or flavourings, but handmade with ❤ using different coloured vegetables (clockwise from top left) - BLUE - Butterfly Pea, which helps to prevent skin ageing; YELLOW - Pumpkin, which helps to improve the health of your heart; RED - Beetroot, a nutrient-rich superfood which aids weight loss, boost longevity & prevent chronic illnesses; GREEN - Spinach, a calcium & iron-rich food that is important for skin, hair & bone health. All 4 bowls of wholesome goodness were equally delicious, but if I really had to choose a favourite, it'd be the BLUE bowl. Not just because it's the most aesthetically pleasing, but also because the chewy texture of the kuey & mildly flavoured broth suits my palate to a T. 😋 I'd also recommend the dry version which will suit those who love tangy flavours for that much-needed oomph! Many thanks to the chatty ladyboss of #yuelaixiangdelights - Ms Joy who readily agreed to our interview invite & for all the yummy healthy comfort food. Definitely a stall worth visiting especially if you are looking for great hawker fare WITHOUT that dreaded salty MSG aftertaste! ;) Address: 160 Sin Ming Drive #01-20 Sin Ming Autocity Open: 7.30 am - 5.30 pm (Mon - Fri); 7.30 am - 3.30 pm (Sat) P/S: Easties will soon be able to enjoy this steaming bowl of goodness nearer to their homes once YLX confirms the opening of a new stall in the coming months! #sgfood #foodsg #sgfoodies #foodiesg #sgeats #hawkpreneur #ourhawkerculture #instasg #visitsingapore #exploresingapore #myhomesingapore #thegpsgalsingapore
